What a joy to be writing a review for The Shocket team! This was my second time purchasing a home using Amy and Dave and my husband’s first. COVID restrictions made this time around a little different from the first, but it was actually easier with a toddler’s schedule to work around. Amy and Dave made the whole process easy with a virtual consultation to hear what we were looking for and then after establishing our desires they told us honestly what the market had to offer to help us expand our search. They showed us several beautiful existing homes that we decided weren’t quite right us before we settled on a new build home. I know builders seem to discourage the use of a real estate agent by providing one if their own to help with the process but I would highly, highly recommend having someone on your side to help facilitate the process. Amy was incredible in helping make things happen and to facilitate conversations. She is completely honest and helps you make decisions that will benefit your family the most. We always had someone to go to with questions and concerns and they were available anytime we called, emailed or texted. They made us feel like we were their only clients (which we knew was not true) but that’s their level of response and care. The new build process was a long one but Amy and Dave stayed on top of it all and looked after us for the whole 8 months plus. We feel incredibly lucky to have worked with the Shocket team and would recommend them a million times over.

The Shocket Team are a powerful ally when you want to sell your home. Amy and David helped walk me the entire process when I was selling my late mother’s home. We faced a repair needed when the furnace failed to start, they arranged a furnace contractor and hired the electrician to fix the problem. This fix was completed in 4 days! Wow! Making the right choice . Two years ago, my wife and I decided to move to the Reno/Sparks area in order to be closer to our adult children. To make this relocation possible, we started to prepare our primary residence, located several hundred miles away, for sale. In the meantime, we researched information about the Reno area and made a few visits there to become acquainted with the area and the housing market. We sold our home on August 1st and began looking for an agent that had an excellent real estate transaction record and someone to whom we could relate. We read numerous agent biographies and their sales transaction records before deciding on Amy and David Shocket at Dickson Realty. We explained to them the type of property we were looking for and that we would be in the Reno area in three days. Our good choice was confirmed as we spoke by telephone with the Shocket team. They are personable, thorough, and experienced. Upon our arrival, Amy and David showed us the properties that met our criteria. The Shockets had researched each one thoroughly and provided us with extended information on drainfields, covenants, associations and other information that would make it possible for us to make an informed buying decision. Once we chose the property that day, they immediately took us through the offer process, with our offer submitted that very afternoon. We felt very well represented in our offer and with the negotiations with the seller to close the deal. Since we were based several hundred miles away, Amy and David were there for us. They personally arranged and monitored the inspections of the property that were needed. We were provided with recommendations for financing, insurance and title company. Everything was completed by secure internet transactions. We did not return to Sparks until the property was ready to close. I would give Amy 6/5 stars if I could. She and Dave far exceeded any of my expectations and made the home buying process easy and understandable. As a first time home buyer in a difficult housing market there was plenty I didn't know, but Amy made the time to show me houses as quickly as possible - even on a busy holiday weekend.
